PROJECTS
The
premises of Buro Happold, in the old Clyde Navigation building,
has two glazed atriums spanning the offices.
Total
atrium cover is in exces of 500 square feet of glass.
The
atrium has automatic venting windows, therefore the objective
was to create a climate-control and solar shading system
in tandem with these.
In
conjunction with SHY UK, we designed and installed a system
of 12 horizontal running, tensioned blinds.
We specified a fabric which reduces solar glare by up to
85%.
As
a bonus, the system also acts as an insect screen when the
venting windows are open.
Manufacture time was four weeks and installation took three
days.
The
job was completed on time and on budget.
This is just one of the many somewhat out-of-the-ordinary
