Aberdeen Harbour Board Control Centre

The building is a Control Tower and Training Centre for the monitoring of shipping within Aberdeen Harbour.

The building is semi-circular, with an eleven degree outward lean - bottom to top.

The project: to supply and install 90 blinds, all of differing shapes and sizes, that would give full protection from solar glare and heat gain, while allowing unrestricted outward vision.

Our answer: we installed 90 blinds of both manual and electric operation in a variety of sizes and shapes. All run under tension at an angle of eleven degrees. These comprised:

  • 5th Floor - Multifilm Roller Blinds.
  • 4th Floor - Mermet Screen fabric blinds.
  • 3rd Floor - Mermet Screen fabric blinds.
  • 2nd Fllor - Mermet Screen fabric blinds.
  • 1st Floor - Mermet Screen fabric blinds.
