New
Boardroom
The
Project:
To
supply an electrically operated roller blind system giving
a high level of solar protection and light control.
The
Challenge: The room consisted of a floor space of approximately
60 metres square. (a) To one elevation there was a combination
of shaped windows all running at an 11 degree angle, plus
one large window. (b) To one other elevation, a small window.
(c) And to the roof, 2 large skylights running the full
length of the room.
The
Answer: We fitted an assortment of our specialist blinds,
using one of our advanced fabrics. All blinds are controlled
by RF receiver motors and work in groups as a single operation.
The
Result:
- 98%
blackout when the blinds are closed.
- Up
to 85% reduction of heat within the room when the
blinds are used correctly.
- Up
to 13% reduction in carbon footprint and an estimated
saving in real terms of £1.25 per square metre of
glass per annum.
These
calculations are assessed using the Shade Specifier Programme
developed by the British Blind & Shutter Association.
